One of the Town’s major attractions, "Bart" was built locally in 1985. Thousands of tourists visit the ram annually which is located in the Wetlands Park.

DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Looking for a lifestyle change? Want to work in an attractive and vibrant country town environment only 225 kilometres from Perth? Interested in leading a small team dedicated to working with a progressive Council in providing a high level of services to the community? If so, then we would like to hear from you.

Council is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and focussed executive manager, with (preferably) a sound knowledge of local government to provide leadership, direction and coordination of the finance, administrative and community services functions of the Shire. A salary package of between $140,000 and $150,000 is envisaged with a negotiable cash component of between $90,000 and $100,000. A comfortable 4 x 2 house will be made available and a vehicle will be provided for business and private use. A performance-based contract of between 3 and 5 years will apply. The position provides an excellent opportunity those wishing to advance or consolidate their career and to position themselves for future advancement in local government.

Wagin is a substantial family friendly town with excellent educational, medical, recreational and shopping amenities. The town is proud of its rich heritage and supports a wide range of sporting and community organisations. The Deputy CEO will enjoy working with an experienced and motivated team and will be offered strong administrative and accounting support in carrying out the requirements of the position.
