Wagin Ram "Baart"

One of the Town’s major attractions, "Baart" was built locally in 1985. Thousands of tourists visit the ram annually which is located in the Wetlands Park.

Puntapin Rock is approx. 5 minutes drive south/east of Wagin and is well worth the short drive and the climb to see the fabulous 360 degree views.

KidSport

KidSport Flyer

The Shire of Wagin no longer deals with Kidsport applications and they must be done in conjunction with your sporting club and the Department of Sport and Recreation, as they administer the KidSport program.

KidSport makes it possible for eligible children to join a not-for-profit sport or recreation club, by contributing up to $300 towards paying club registration.

To be eligible children must;

aged 5 to 18 years
residing in Western Australia
named on a valid Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card (issued by Services Australia) or meet the KidSport special considerations criteria
registering with a KidSport club.

Vouchers can be used across multiple KidSport clubs, helping more children to get active and connect with community sport. Where the KidSport Club has opted in, vouchers can also be used for essential uniform and equipment costs. All vouchers are valid for 90 days.

Applicants can apply for KidSport funding to pay fees for a number of registered clubs. Funding is only available to cover fees of clubs that are registered for KidSport with the Shire of Wagin. The list of registered clubs is continually growing, if the club you would like to join is not currently registered, please contact our Community Liaison Officer on 98611177 to discuss if it is eligible to become a registered club.

It is preferred that children applying for Kidsport funding register with clubs within the Shire of Wagin, but it is not essential.

If you do not have a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card, but suffer from financial difficulty you may visit a KidSport referral agent to determine if you are eligible to receive funding.

Complete the KidSport online application form and submit
You will receive a validation code via email - this code must be given to the club prior to playing.
